A tip from Krycek leads Mulder and Scully to a chunk of rock brought into the U.S. that may contain traces of alien life. When a scientist at Goddard Space Center cuts it open, he’s infected with the mysterious black oil. Mulder follows Krycek’s intel about the source of the rock all the way to Russia. Meanwhile, Scully is asked to testify before Congress regarding Mulder’s whereabouts.
